Too many things went wrong, thanks to the stoopidity of the Ford family, particularly Bill. AM was the only good CEO we had in the last 25 years, probably more. What was Bill's decision? Sending him packing a year before the end of his contract. Mark Fields, who was imitating AM (because he realized that AM was a good CEO), was also let go earlier because he didn't embrace the full BEV path.
7-8 years later, the company posted over 40 billions with a B dollars of losses due to BEV, Model E division was reabsorbed into the company, and I have not heard a peep from management about the big sc--w up, not even to say they were wrong. What are we doing now? What Mark Fields was saying a decade ago (hybrids).
Now, if you see that happening at the CEO level, is easy to imagine what went down in the engineering levels of the company, where the employees are not paid millions of dollars annually, nor they have contracts with golden parachutes. The best, the average, and the below average employees were laid off, or they decided to leave. The few remaining are not motivated to work, nor to correct the mistakes that pop up frequently to avoid a confrontation with managers (ask me how I know).
So how the infinite wisdom of our managers and overlords solved this? Hiring ten times the number of engineers in the LCCs, each with 1000 times less experience than the ones being replaced. So what else came from the butts of our dear LLxs, sorry, from their mouths? It is hard to tell the difference with that much sh!t pouring out. Well, they think replacing knowledge with processes is the way to go, so now the new unexperienced hires have too many documents to read, too much to learn, and very few of those documents are updated. What could go wrong, right?
