"Output has been reduced in particular at the Chevron-led (CVX.N), opens new tab Tengiz oilfield, Kazakhstan's largest, two industry sources said....
Output there had more than halved, one source said, to around 406,000 barrels per day on Wednesday from 925,000 bpd on average this month....
Chevron did not immediately reply to a Reuters request for comment....."
@gw A stunning lack of knowledge of the oil industry, hopefully not employed by CVX.
Chevron has a wide open door to produce in the USA but they insist to go over seas, so they get what they deserve. They sell stuff in the USA that makes money because it doesn’t make enough money. Again they deserve what they get.
@eb
Chevron works to keep the dividends coming to their share holders.. Disrupt the cash flow (remember 2015??) and layoffs will happen quickly.
@dj
Chevron does make layoff decisions on short term fluctuations in market adjustments. They have been planning this layoff for several years. RB made a statement the other day that a team of 40 global workers was recently reduced to 4 by using AI to replace the work processes. This is not because AI is that productive but because the original 40 people were located in 10 different locations across the global. Centralized workforce is consolidating the work processes into increased productivity. The federated org from years ago was very inefficient and the ELT managed their careers by moving around the world and ducking off the Teet of a corporate behemoth. They finally got their cr@p together and are centralizeimg the workforce into 4 centers
Blockade Kaz oil and the CVX bottom line takes a big hit = sooner layoffs
