Since ATT does not manage its own email domain do you have to change emails?
Did you get free or discounted Netflix also?
Thinking of switching myself. Currently plan costs me $268/mo for family 4 lines with my employee discount. Xfinity quoted me $100/mo for 5 years if I bundled with my Internet plan. Yeah, I think I’m going to switch as well.
Likewise, I am going to switch from AT&T U-Verse to Google fiber soon. My U-Verse went up $17 this month, after a large increase last year. ‘M not looking forward to migrating my email from ATT.net to Gmail.com.
AT&T had the opportunity to place fiber in my subdivision in 2025, but deferred it until 2026. Google fiber beat them to it and micro trenched their fiber along the street curb. Unfortunately, my city will only allow one company to micro trench in a neighborhood. I contacted my former colleague at AT&T, and they canceled the project. So far, Google fiber captured my subdivision (600 homes), the subdivision behind me (600 homes), and the subdivision west of us (600 homes).
Google has been relentless in trying to get me to sign up me up. They got my email somehow and send me an email every day for the past two months. I also get a flyer in the mailbox twice a week. They are taking over my town. This is in central Texas.
I just returned from Westminster, Co (outside Denver) yesterday, and I saw Google fiber doing the same thing in the subdivisions up there.
Like the OP, I checked plans with MVNOs. Mint Mobile (uses T Mobile network) offered the best plans for any tier of data usage. If you pay 12 months in advance you get an even lower rate. In my case, About 3 months of T's ee discount billing equaled 12 months of MM billing. And never once in over 2 years did I need to contact MM customer service. They have a super fast and easy web site when you need to check anything. I can't complain about anything; great coverage!

It is a better deal than even the active employee discount. Any of the MVNO operators will save you money.
