All big talkers saying they’ll take it. Only to not take it if it hits. Seen it the few times it was available, I’m out I can’t take this place etc. I’ve had enough sc--w this give me an offer. Offer hits the big mouths still sitting in same job they’ve had for years. A few take it that are close to retirement and it’s bridges them, but most just talk when they realize they can’t find another job that pays as well.

@e0 when they say 3 years away. They aren't referring to specific numbers like 25 or 30. Or age 55. But referring to financially needing 3 more years. So in theory you could be 60 or have 34 years but still need 2 or 3 more years of pay coming in before you retire!

@an Whats being 3 years away? 3 years away from 30? If your 55 with 20 plus years, you have already hit full retirement pension.

If they don't sweeten the pot with some extra $$ for a little help until Medicare age then they are not going to get many takers and we're going to have people sticking around for four more years, as per the ratified upcoming contract extension. Every employee that sticks around for four years is another approx $600k cost to the company. Penny wise and pound foolish of the company if they don't financially entice people a bit more to leave.

@OP Are those whispers able to provide lottery numbers? You have a better chance of winning the lottery.

@ac if you say if an ISP comes out and you would take it then you’re ready to take it. You are not three years away from taking it. because of those who are actually three years away, don’t have the money to take it. that’s one of the main reasons why they are three years away.

What he is saying is you have to be within one year of wanting to leave for it to actually beneficial. For example if you take it and its around one years salary but you said i was going to stay 3 or 4 more years . It don't make sense one years salary only replaces one year !!! If you needed 400 grand. And they give you 130 grand. Your 270 grand short.

@a3 I am not one here from retirement. I am three years from retirement and I am ready to take it when it comes out so that is not true. Either cause I know many people who are not near the 30 year mark also want to take it.

@OP Eventually one of the thousands of posts for an EISP will be right!

@a3 this is so factually incorrect it doesn’t even makes sense lol. First what defines “within 1 yr of retirement?”. If you define that as 30 years than are you saying past EISPS were only those with 29 years and up? Factually incorrect. Are you determining retirement as pension eligible , or a combo of ncs, age, etc? Also factually incorrect no matter how you choose to define it.
The upcoming EISP one of the worst kept secrets ever lol, we all know it’s coming we just don’t know exactly when (we all assume sometime after AUG 1 since that’s the full main reorg takes effect), if it will be enhanced or not and what locations it will be offered

Come on, the only people who take it are people within a yr of retiring and hr knows that from past offers . So if they need 5k heads to leave and only 275 union workers are within a yr, why bother going through the exercise of setting up a EISP to get maybe 275.
