Occasionally both my laptop and external monitor blink black at very precise intervals. It's happened probably 2-3x/yr since we went WFH about 2020. Now it's becoming more frequent. It almost seems like a screen shot is taken exactly every 10 min. Does this happen to anyone else? How frequently? If it is monitoring, what triggers it, who sees it, how is it being used?
P.S. I know there is no privacy at work/on their equipment, and see the disclaimer every morning. I'm mostly curious.

I just assumed when we were sent home and got company equipment there was
monitoring software installed. I do my job so I don’t worry about it honestly

I've been using a jiggler for more than six years. Before that, they sent urgent messages whenever the three minute "inactive" status showed. As if no one ever needed to take a bio break.
PEGA is a productivity tool. Line adjusters have production standards. Those who support management do not have PEGA, as they have various duties - many miscellaneous and sporadic.
Yes, company equipment is monitored. You could have asked your supervisor to confirm this. The blinking might be a hardware issue. contact IT to fix it or get a replacement laptop.

Yes, that device is monitored since it is company equipment. If the blinking is distracting, you can reach out to IT for assistance
@ax thank you! I know it SOUNDS crazy, but there's many reasons that I feel like it's monitoring. Can you tell me what the trigger is? It's happened after super-high production days, after a lot of downtime logged, and recently it seems more random. Who orders it, or what department controls it?
Those experiencing where their computer completely freezes immediately followed by monitor screen flickering and then goes black for a second, you are not paranoid. Your leaders and perhaps others may try to make you feel like that but your intuition was spot on.
It is some monitoring software and is taking screenshots upon lack of activity so they can document timestamps. In some departments they even have software installed to monitor your entire activity, including every application you have opened and even each thing you clicked ir typed within each application.
That may sound crazy to someone because you could be thinking what company could afford to have people spend all day monitoring other people. However, most of this is leveraging generative artificial intelligence to do the monitoring, which is how they are now able to do this in a cost efficient manner. Just another reason to love AI, I say sarcastically.
As an aside, I actually worked for another different health insurance corporation on here and I experienced the exact same kind of monitoring. So, very interesting to read the same monitoring software and techniques are being used at other health insurance corporations. It is amazing how much all of these health insurance corporations appear to be implementing the exact same playbook.
My system has been acting like that; almost as if someone is taking a Snapchat of it all. Unsure why it's happening. Maybe I'm just paranoid.
As a previous supervisor, I had the ability to see the screens of all of my team members at any given time and could listen to current and past recorded case manager calls for quality audits. I have no doubt leadership can see everything we do. And IT has the ability to recover deleted folders from drives and can tell what user deleted them and when. EVERYTHING is monitored!
Pega is CenPAS for us in claims related areas. It's also a way to monitor activity & document audits of claims.
My laptop camera is covered when I'm not in a meeting. sound/microphone are muted.
Since I'm on their clock and using their equipment, they can do whatever they like from 9-5
except for DuoMobile on my phone, I have no cross contamination of ME & Centene
PEGA is a system that tells how many clicks and scrolls you do during your shift. You should be at least 80% or higher daily. Your supervisor should be discussing this with you in your 1:1.
@aa well we were told it was. We have to clock in on our phone then open our laptop. We were told it’s monitoring how long we stay in an application for business practices and to definitely not use a mouse jiggler cause they can tell. Just putting out there what we were told.
Mine blinks occasionally too, not sure why.
PEGA is not a monitoring system.
What if they do? As long as we are doing our work, who cares if they are monitoring us or not? We are on the clock, hourly or salary, so I would say I wouldn’t care if they were.
To answer the op’s question, I never had this happen to my laptop.
