Thread regarding Edward Jones layoffs

No tokens for you!

Heard that teams are being limited on their AI spend due to extreme costs by some dev groups. Like $100 per month limit is what we were told, but don't know that for sure. Anybody else have more details on this shiz show?

Hahahahaha...AI is so great; let's get rid of people! Oh no, it costs too much; let's limit it but not hire anyone back! Eddie Jones should have just stuck with treating it's underpaid people nicely and letting everybody be happy the way things were before all this reimagined cr@p!

@dx 100% agree. Even PP in one of her fantasy videos about 2030 wants clients to sit at a table with their FA while the AI spits out everything like magic. These people will probably make a push for having EDJ kiosks setup all over town where people dont need an FA/BOA, just a bot to do everything. The reality though is the kiosks will probably be broken half the time and the client will be in charge of coming up with their own work around, or calling a help desk in india.

Being in an area that is using AI, first off I have heard numerous times that we don’t have AI ready data but yet they want us to use these applications and then bandaid the data later. I have yet to see a cost analysis on anything AI mainly cause I figured they have no clue what the true cost is to the firm. These leaders legit get all warm and fuzzy for people using copilot to answer questions for them it’s a joke. We had a recent meeting about AI and what they image could come into fruition but yet no cost analysis to said products. Truly the blind are leading and hoping something sticks. Which honestly sounds right in cue for these leaders.

@aa Using the AI is allowing it to "learn" and mimick your movements. Once the ghouls at the top see how much data has been collected, your job will go to india. The contractors will use your AI shadowing as their training manuals. This is why there is a huge emphasis on using AI to "train new associates". Who do you think these new associates are going to be as we gear up for home office india?

It's crazy the way we want our branches to use it. Then we use so much we are throttling people. Branches are mad because it doesn't work. We blame the vendor but it's not them. We don't want anyone to think anymore just use AI

Lol, Operations has a goal of 80% usage on the daily. Not sure how this is even possible given our clunky and janky AF systems we have in place can't even function properly. How much are we dumping into this black hole known as AI? Today we see open AI turned its bots loose without adult supervision and hacked other systems. Sounds like a great idea for keeping client data secure while we outsource everything to india that isn't nailed down. These people calling the shots are d-mb, reckless parasites.

I guess my dept wasn’t one of them because we have AI learning sessions every week, it seems like, and a dedicated dept chat for AI related shortcuts only. But, we can easily be outsourced, so I bet that’s why…
