Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Super Excited!

Gonna check my email first thing!
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. I mean how many more times are we ever going to get a VSP offer if you think about it?
Take your $ you so much deserve and file unemployment (and yes I am eligible I already checked), do some side gigs for fun or get another job and grow that $. Live your life being free of enslavement at a corporation where all you are are doing is making others filthy rich. Get involved with doing things 'you' love!
Counting down the hours now ⏰

A mindless job is what some of the roles are at Centene. I made more cash money as a bartender! Lol

Some of you are being very naive about what the job market is like right now. Yes- even in healthcare. You're looking at 9-12 months or more until you finally get another job.

Yes- you may have to make a case for it-literally even in California. It will be interesting to see how quick people actually get it or if they get push back once the separation happens. This is one of the biggest questions yet to be answered other than what is the last day.

You all are delusional if you think you’re gonna get unemployment benefits if you take the VSP. wait until you sign the dotted line. I guarantee there will be something in there that states you’re not eligible.

@OP I hope your unemployment will come through. Better watch that final paperwork before you sign even eligible state. But otherwise good luck.

@ap The fact that Centene made it known that layoffs would happen after VSP is grounds for UI to be approved. At least it is in my state.

@OP You are lucky as far as the UI goes. Even in Cali you will often have to fight for it and the burden falls on you to make your case. It would probably be simpler if they did not extend the separation date. Best of luck and hopefully it will all be even better than expected.
