I was just told that to receive the vsp, you MUST be working the full two weeks before your separation date. So if you have any pre-approved pto in the system already, they will expect you to change those dates….or appeal (somehow).

Hilarious interaction with my boss today. My last day is 9/4. I have 9.5 PTO days to take. I scheduled them. She was like wait, you’re scheduling them consecutively? I said I have 3 weeks to take 2 weeks of PTO. Centene should have done the right thing and paid out PTO and sick time. You think I’m leaving 9.5 days of PTO and 8.5 days of sick time on the table? I’m losing most of the sick time. 🤡

Corporate project manager. Legacy WellCare. Been here 12 years. I got 9/4/26. I cancelled my scheduled November and December PTO and I have 9 days of PTO. Scheduled those the week of August 10 and 17. Come back and work the 2 weeks, the week of August 24 and 31 and then I’m out of here. Good luck everyone.
@a6 like someone mentioned, it was in the original paperwork framed as a “typically you’re not allowed to and up to your people leader’s discretion” but today I just spoke to someone on the vsp phone line who set a hard line saying it’s a requirement that you work the full two weeks
@a6 It was stated in the original VSP Employee FAQ that vacation and sick time typically cannot during your last 2 weeks of employment.
@OP who told you this? Was it in the VSP paper work, did your PL tell you, or did you hear from other coworkers?
