@cxaf, for a second generation American you sure lack reading and writing skills.
I'm a RED blooded American and I don't care about anyone's race. But I can certainly draw conclusions by my experiences with offshore workers who are typically less educated, less creative, less responsible, more inconsistent, more error prone etc, etc.

Sorry, second generation American here . If you were as well then I guarantee that you too would believe in people based upon their skill sets and work ethic rather than your blue blooded lineage.

Oh wait, I forgot! One very exceptional MD was catalyzed to a compensation package that ranks in our top ten on Yahoo Finance.

Please Catalyze us Robin!

Catalyst. cat - a - lyst - “A substance that increases the rate of a chemical reaction without itself undergoing any permanent chemical change.”

Interesting… by definition Project Catalyst has already been a roaring success!

Our Catalyst is actually Robin, reacting throughout the organization to reduce total compensation, total headcount, eviscerating the 401K match, all bonuses, raises, healthcare “benefits” (LOL), even as Robin, the Catalyst, undergoes no change or discomfort whatsoever.

This is a sick joke, and the joke was on us.

@bnxn, Renyi starved the bank of any spending. He got rid of every extra penny spent, whether it was on bagels when we asked employees to come in for an early meeting or when you were asking for an operating system that wasn't a decade old. And if you wanted manpower to move from bare metal to even a VM, it was out of the question. THAT is a major reason we had to build a whole new datacenter.
Not to mention that letting companies keep their own money is not "funding" them. So it's the company's decision how to spend their money which means it can't be "misused".

It’s undeniable that our H-1B workers have superior skillsets than U.S. workers. Research the decline in the United States Educational system. We spend the most money on education of any nation yet our results are consistently in he lowest third worldwide.

Do you even realize what our kids are being force fed in elementary schools?

Renyi… Bank of New York CEO who led the worldwide Russian money laundering scandal in the late 1990s through 2000. Greenfield… a BONY technology project funded by President Trump’s 2018 tax bill to stimulate employment which the Bank misused to replace archaic early 1990s servers with shiny new boxes.

@7qds, at least that's what the America haters tell everyone.
And your experience with foreign workers is different than everyone I talk to at the bank. Americans will be out sick a day or two per year. Offshore, it's a day or two per month. And their training obviously missed the broad backgrounds that our degreed employees obtained. That's why they have a team of them listening in on the phone interviews to feed the candidate answers. And it's why they're totally lost if anything in their work varies from the process checklist that they're following.

@7kmh

Seriously? Are you really unaware of the total decline in American education compared to the rest of the world?

https://www.theodysseyonline.com/america-compare-rest-world-education

Have you noticed that our coworkers who post on this board are generally unable to complete a single coherent sentence?

Yes, I’d take India H1B workers and Wroclaw workers over Americans in a heartbeat. They’re better educated, more competitive, more motivated and most importantly they have an awesome work ethic. They have the skills that America had for 200 years.

@7elm,
and you conveniently ignore your racist "better skillsets offshore" comment in @6kqf. But we understand, you hate America because you can't compete.

Simple racism and cultural bias against talented people.

@6kqf, highly skilled??? What are you smoking? They're a little cheaper because they don't have real degrees. That's why they have people feeding them answers during phone interviews. But by the time you account for onshore management, communication issues, time zone hassles, sick days because they don't have soap, lack of infrastructure, they aren't really any cheaper.

Sending more work offshore actually is a great decision. It’s not “brilliant” but is a solid decision to move to lower costs with better skillsets offshore.

The United States educational system has been disintegrating for 50 years. India’s educational system is now well ahead of the U.S.

Furthermore, they’re hungry to work and eager to learn unlike the last 3 generations to enter the U.S. workforce.

Isn't Renyi part of the reason we had to spend billions of dollars on GF? There are plenty of costs that can't be cut, just delayed. And often times it costs more in the long run. Although, I guess that's a paradox because cuts but definition can't cost more.

I’ve been watching with my popcorn for 35 years. Yes, they Just keep renaming it but something will never happen until we get true leadership. It’s been 32 years since we’ve had a real leader.

Technically we’d have to admit that Renyi was competent as well, but we all know that story…

“Organic Growth”, “Catalyst” “Client experience reimagined”, “Project Bravo”, “Driving Excellence”, “Delivering the Bank”, “Think like an owner” are all the same thing… empty slogans that never get beyond an initial PowerPoint Deck at the top of the house debating society.

Leadership does not know how to lead because they were hired above the organization, do not understand it and do not understand how it works.

The only two CEO’s that were effective managers in the past 40 years were Frank Cahouet and Gerald Hassell.

Actually more offshore workers is a great idea. We get a lot more Bang for the Buck offshore intellectually, culturally and educationally…. and it costs less. I know that people have racist instincts towards this but just lose it. We’re a global company.
