Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Pershing

I hope none of you have been exposed to this side of the BNY sh&t show. The Jim, Emily and Ben show is comical. No clue.

Me too. What a bunch of "I've been around" leadership id--ts. I have no idea how they can talk about culture or vision and keep a straight face. JC and BH are clueless. All they do is try to keep the ship from sinking to collect their $$. At least ES has a clue.

Nope hit goals and still got the shaft. Grow a nut and play in the mans game of sales. Apparently you are a box checker since you didn't know the details about the RSUs. I heard the pay $20 an hour at McDonalds so you may want to look at that option.

Exactly… your light bulb has finally turned on!!!! Good job!

Salesmen have contracts for a bonus. For them they’re guaranteed. It seems that you missed your required goals. Can’t blame management for that.

Oh…have I ever been exposed to Pershing. I’ve made it my mission to let coworkers and clients aware of Pershing ethical issues.

You/he/she/it must be an account opener. I've had up to 30% of my comp put into this sh-t stock/RSUs. Move up the chain or shut the F up.

Apparently you are not in sales. Reread this slowly. Sales people who hit goals get paid and the bonus is not "a wonderful and rare thing." It's more than 50% of the total compensation, so when they force you to defer a portion into the BS RSUs, it stings. Obviously you're a box checker just hoping for "the rare" bonus.

@1tsv

Reread slowly. It’s not a grade level thing. It’s employees too disengaged to understand that there is no requirement to give a good bonus.

Only Senior Management have contractually guaranteed bonuses. For 99% of employees a bonus is a wonderful and very rare thing.

People can whine all they want but RSUs have nothing to do with low bonuses this year and everything to do with cost containment.

Period.

What pay level are you? I wish part of my comp wasn't deferred into RSUs , but it is. There is a formal schedule and the RSUs vest over 4 years.

Isn’t it nice to be in an era when we can whine about free stock instead of layoffs?

Perspective people…

Wow. If you Love your RSUs at 62 can’t wait to hear how much you love them when you’re 82.

Hate to be the grammar police but “deadweight MD's” is redundant.

@wue

None of our compensation was deferred into RSU’s. This rumor exists only because optional bonuses were lower this year. Bonuses have been MUCH lower in the past and often were cancelled for years.

There are so many bad things here that there is no reason to make things up.

ES is the bright spot, and that says something. At least she got rid of a lot of the deadweight MD's that were in their roles due to the ongoing nepotism.
JC's cult followers have either left or been cut. Clients do not like him, employees do not like or respect him. His arrogance doesn't sit well these days.
BH, well he got the job because his co-manager was worse than he was. She seemed good compared to the unstable personalities that ran the group before her. No one has a good word to say about him, his run will be over soon enough.

I actually know a few coworkers who have much of their their net worth in Pershing accounts. This amazes me.

They didn't tell me about the deferred comp/RSUs until after my bonus was paid. Surprise, surprise.
Now that the laws have changed, I hope we learn more about their secrets to save others some pain.

That’s what happens to a company when you have a de facto CEO who only got the job because he threw tantrum after tantrum and then no one else wanted the job.

Don't forget about part of our compensation being deferred into RSUs. A requirement, not a choice. Love my RSUs at 62 when the stock is at 42. Thanks for cutting a bonus I earned by 1/3rd.

If BH could put one cohesive sentence together without mumbling it would be a miracle. So inspiring.
