Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Anybody knows what the 401K match will really be at the end of next year! I don’t get warm and fuzzies on this ,ove…

@OP

No, it’s really not a business plan. But it is what bad management does when they can't increase revenues. Thats why we all have multiple CEOs and MDs and COOs. It’s a plan to drain all of the wealth from the many to the few.

Do you think for a moment that this will ever benefit the bulk of us?

Hundreds of Innovation centers? LOL. How about 15 max?

@3sfk

I do feel sorry for the banks locked up in cities across the U.S. with their mortgages, and it’s sad that the cities are descending into squalor as a result.

But the Bank has screwed us non-stop since 2008 so I simply accept this as long delayed, but inevitable, well timed karma. Hopefully the cities will be redeveloped with more housing and attractions can be gentrified.

Honestly though, this is all on the banks.

what'd really save money is to get rid of 85% commerical real estate and transform the employees that wanted to remote into full remote.
of course thats not the solution that they want to hear

@2cpv, no, it will COST bk money even in the near term. If you want to really save money, get rid of half our town hall meetings.

At some point they can't make decisions that only benefit the company and that's where BNY is. They can spin this cr-p all they want to, but at the end of the day they are slowly ki-ling the future of the company. Most won't care as they get paid to uncover these small gains that will have long-term implications. Terrible.

Fired? She probably doubled her bonus for coming up with this gimmick. This will be a big money maker for BNYM. I’m sure this a bigger money maker than anything that ever came out of any of the hundreds of innovation centers that we have built.

I lowered my contribution. More money in my paycheck.

I would say that this is a deal breaker for further employment. I’ve never seen nor heard of such nonsense in banking or even in contracting jobs. It’s not just the interest free year+ loan that we’re giving the Bank, which is bad enough, but now they’re not even disclosing the match? This like HR running a casino.

Joleen should be fired for signing off on this. At a certain point HR has to behave ethically. Yes We know why she was hired but it’s time for her to make a stand.

I read the entire document when the 401k change came out. The bank reserves the right to not match your 2023 contribution in full in 2024 - read the fine print.
