Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Some exaggerate a bit

I have a lot of complaints too because this could be a much better workplace, but I think some people are very much exaggerating…. Do you really think the grass is so much greener elsewhere? If we're going to be honest about it - not really…

Yeah, it’s greener. My last couple years at BNY I struggled with my manager telling me every year that I was not going to get a raise because I was already at the top of my band. Sc--w that. I left two years ago and I’m making over 50k more now.

Did I forget to mention that other places have good bonuses?

The grass is greener, air is fresher, and food tastes better

Even if the grass is not greener, there’s a pretty decent chance you can get paid more somewhere else. I’m now at a place where I have fewer responsibilities, but make a lot more.

@kob, what do you expect from WFC when they have Charlie and still have their 1970's branding? But you really shouldn't be comparing a retail bank with a financial company such as bk.

No exaggerating at all. I’ve worked at five financial institutions and post merger BNYM is by far the worst.

After I was fired from BNY due to senior management politics I found a much better place that rewarded my hard work.
