The IBM Security in Atlanta was hit hard today in Engineering. Software developers, document writers, quality assurance, DevOps affected. Last day is May 4th.

IBM dumped 3x my workload on me. When they took away my bonus plan I waited until 12/15 and then let my manger know I was retiring at the end of the year. Cashed out all my vacation days and paid off the new car I bought at the beginning of the year. I could hear the panic in my manager’s voice. Damn that felt good!!!
I was in the same office working for a different organization. Aiops/turbonomic.
My position has been eliminated as well.
Does this include managed security services?
I was in complete shock. Do we know if this was performance based? Are they going to hire replacements for us who are being let go?
It was a rough day for the delivery side of Security as well. Lots of long term business knowledge is going away. It's tough to find people to offload our work onto to prepare for our departure. I feel sorry for those that are left that will inherit double their existing workload.
