Are people just trying to create panic when they write that massive layoffs are around the corner, or is there actually some truth in that?

I was wondering if you took your wife on the same cruise I took her b4 you got laid off.
My layoff came to me after nearly 25 years at BAC. It was honestly one of the best days of my life. My spouse and I celebrated by taking a cruise. Stellar severance, and a much better gig within 3 months of taking my time and looking around informally. There is always a light at the end of that tunnel.
CEO is forced to say there will be no layoffs, BUT now he is saying “there are no plans for layoffs”. Well plans DO change.
I don’t listen to the junk the bank talks about. It’s mostly smoke and mirrors.
I log in, do my job and log off. End of story.
Terminate or sever?
They have to fire like 2/3 of the people in my campus if that’s that case
They are going to terminate those not reporting into the office.
Unlikely to be any major layoffs in general until at least past fiscal 2023
Not in a panic at all. Quite the contrary, still praying for a layoff and wondering where to sign up!
Instead of the ever-elusive layoff, BoA strategy seems to strangle us into such misery that we leave on our own - with NO PACKAGE.
