Really? The majority of the policies went from BoNY policies to Mellon’s policies which were awful. The merger caused BoNY employees to lose so many perks.

The day I find myself whining about my unhappiness over a decades old merger on an anonymous layoff board is the day I will start to seriously reconsider my life choices.

@3dro

Everyone in Pittsburgh and the entire rust belt remember the great Mellon Bank. Their Honesty, class and high quality was the polar opposite of the dishonest and ethically challenged BONY culture.

Those who worked across cities through the merger years invariably feel nothing but contempt and disgust for New York ethical, dishonesty and horribly dishonest culture.

BONY definitely took over Mellon; it was not the claimed “merger of equals”. Mellon would have been better off merging with PNC, instead of the criminal BONY.

Oh stop with the false narrative that the big bad Bank of New York took over the defenseless poor little Mellon Bank. It probably would have failed otherwise or been take over by someone else. So stop crying 😭 🤮

SVB reminds me how badly BONY was run before they took us over to bail themselves out. Mellon had cutting edge, overfunded pensions, high growth and state if the art transaction processing.

No impact on the banking sector, just one badly run S&L.

Who cares. Nobody in their right mind would invest in crypto or svb. And Biden already made taxpayers bail out the teamster's pension.
