Teams meetings

I have 4 hours worth of mtgs today & 6 hours tomorrow.
They are all via Teams with no one in my same location: therefore I will be sitting in a dirty crowded noisy sea of cubicles all supposedly for in person collaboration which I will be doing over the computer, which could be done at home.

R.V. is the anti-Todd. I can’t conceive of any rational way to be for both Todd & Robin or against both Todd & Robin. Their approaches to everything are polar opposites.

There are two kinds of people. Those who realize and appreciate Todd’s wonderful leadership and those who soon will when Robin gets rolling.

“The gov't let their partners in crime, the corporations, know that they needed them to bring people back.”

What a scary place it must be for the bats in that belfry.

While you’re in there can you remember to fill the water cooler?

I think that I’m the only one who bothers as it’s always empty.

Last time in office, I was in a meeting and this lady came right behind me and started using the “f” word out loud while talking to the people. It was indeed unprofessional.

You’re just not getting enough water cooler talk time in. Remember that water cooler time is the pinnacle of this company, whatever that means.

The main problem is that we really don’t have an “office” any longer. Instead they have been turned into what are essentially call centers where you have a tiny space right on top of your loud co-workers. Going into the “office” is now such a miserable experience, where no one can really concentrate on getting work done, it’s no wonder people don’t want to go back.

If someone tells you to go home because you are sick, I would get it in writing in case some POS manager wants to treat you like a kid and know why you badged out early

Isn’t it amazing how well Todd managed a surprise COVID pandemic, moved us all to work from home and reassured Wall Street… all with no warning and without ever missing a beat?

And now our new real C.E.0. can’t even manage a return to normalcy?

No need to go on about governments being partners in crime with cities, etc. It’s a real and very complex problem. We all need cities if not only for hospitals, theaters, shops, sports, cultural events etc. and infrastructure does cost money. This has been true for thousands of years. We’re all in this together.

Disruptive change such as working remote is always difficult. No simple answers here.

On the other hand everybody is struggling with the current administration’s inflation and that includes corporations as well as people.

@zlg, I think you're grasping for straws when you keep repeating this nonsense. Why would corporations just do what the gov't tells them to do when it's so expensive and disruptive to their employees? There IS a slight possibility that companies want people in their office so it's worth more when they put it on the market but they don't give a rat's a$$ about gov't or other commercial loans.

Nope. I was not in office 5 days per week PRIOR to Covid nor am I a millennial. I’m 50.

Keep licking RV’s shoes just like you did TG

Good for you. Congratulations. Enjoy your meetings. Quit complaining about it - before the pandemic you were there 5 days a week. I assume you are a millennial that feels entitled to WFH nonstop.

As someone who works at 240 there are breakout rooms, but they are always occupied by senior management all day. If I’m in the office, I try to be as loud as possible on any call. If you can’t beat the system, you can break it…

The cities were becoming wastelands too quickly, so the gov't let their partners in crime, the corporations, know that they needed them to bring people back. They need things to relatively normal for the next election but it's clear things are very different and will never be the same again.
