So tech teams will no longer have the privilege of 10 days only in office per quarter. Archaic applications faltering every day will have even less technology oversight. Brilliant ideas coming from the top!!!

Thuggish behavior being utterly normal working arrangements. I do feel for this coddled generation but I hope that they can outgrow their helicopter parenting.
To is a pay cut! You lose time in commute, gas, vehicle mileage.. time is something you can never get back!
BNYM doesn't care about the employees, they never have. From slashing the insurance options, to forcing people to get the shot, to now forcing people back in the office when nobody wants to go back. What really bugs me is being told how I should be thankful for getting to work remotely the last few years. Don't pi-s down my back and tell me it's raining.
You’re about 10 years late to the party. H-1B tech leads generally work onshore and rotate back to India to get cross training and build team cohesion. Ultimately H-1B resources become stateside managers of teams of offshore workers in India, as well as other countries.

Big manager meeting was this afternoon. They are NOT kidding. 20 days a rolling 3-month period. First time you don't follow suit is a warning, second time is dismissal. Managers offered all kinds of arguments for WFH, but C-suite does not care. No manager discretion like before. My manager, who does not personally care and is/was WFH himself, strongly advised that we do as we're told.
Fickle leaders! we ran business remote with minimal in office, using video chats. Now they insult us wanting us to believe we NEED to be in office more. Less overtime now, spend it commuting. They simply follow playbooks of others, followers not leaders. Total disregard of putting their supposed important asset of people first. Hope they see a mass exodus to wake up the incompetent.
H-1B employees work in the States by definition.
I thought all the tech people are in India.
Yes. I know Fully remote tech folks who are now in 3 days per week
Only solution is what someone else said. Put in your 8 hours & they have to wait till your back on the clock in office the next day.
Quite giving this place your time for free
Oh boo hoo- you tech people make way too much money standing around and looking snotty all day.
Alright, when the apps fail you can wait for us to drive into the office to fix it. That's when we need the most collaboration.
I've not heard anything official, but it wouldn't surprise me. A tightening job market is a license for management to return to thuggish behavior.
