Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

What is with the increase in meetings

These are never ending now and multiples a day back to back so you can’t get anything done. And what’s with 5 different teams setting up meetings asking same questions so all you do is repeat same nonsense over and over for no reason

I’m up to 5 for Monday and several more throughout the week. Suddenly people don’t know processes after 10 years so we have to discuss workflows when they should know already. This is the cr-p that annoys the heck out of me. If you have to ask this type of stuff after all this time, you should be let go

@1xwk, you should schedule a catch up meeting for Monday morning then walk yourself out after reading a statement that your manager can give to HR. That's how Jolen likes to do it.

And it is like no one knows how to book meetings…..have never been as double and triple booked as I am now. And sorry, if I need to be in the office I do not want to attend your 7:30 AM meeting!

There's a certain project team working on a very important system migration....and I swear, on at least 4 different occasions, I've been asked for the EXACT same information and documentation. I just forward the original email. One hand isn't talking to the other, and round and round we go. Project management at its finest...

Exactly. Every saved off Excel SS or PP deck is obsolete as of that instant. Technology has no interest in rolling our real time systems for office automation. Regelman was supposed to do that but he’s been a complete zero.

Probably shouldn’t admit this, but after a long successful 40 year career here I’ve become disgusted by the constant yearly benefits cuts, pay freezes, nonexistent raises and other cuts. I’m one of the most loyal long term employees, I care and I’ve always worked 60 hour weeks.

I don’t even recognize this place and no longer give a d*mn aboutit. Giving notice on Monday.

These modern “elite leaders” that never worked their way up a chain and learned to make decisions along the way are incapable of learning how to manage. I’m actually enjoying watching the chaos and posturing at the top of the house.

The reason for the constant contradictions on RTO, policies and displacements all boil down to no ba--s and no comfort in a decision unless waves of sycophants agree.

@1vcl, the worst thing is those documents are out of date minutes after you hit send. I can't tell you how many times I've seen emails come down from the email forwarders, errr, I mean managers, with my apps on a list claiming it required some kind of attention. I'd waste time showing my apps shouldn't be on the list and they'd say, "oh yeah, that list is from a month ago". We could save a lot of money if we outright banned all of this so-called productivity software. And I use excel A LOT to do analysis but those benefits are outweighed by all the useless docs I get.

Let’s all email each other spreadsheets and PowerPoints, re-edit them and forward them on to one another during our Teams meetings on our noisy open floor concept “offices”A.K.A. long noisy cheap tables with cable clutter.

It’s as if the Bank leadership has no concept of efficiency.

Decline them if you, as an owner, don't think they're productive.

More meetings to decide next meetings.
People who feel left out want more meetings scheduled so they can attend (or not).
Meetings being scheduled without the necessary people, and they usually don't show up because they are stuck in other meetings.

Same for emails.

Too much inefficiency.
