It is what it is. I’ve lasted so many years here. Not bragging. Doing whatever I’m told. Not the best but not the worst experience. If I’m a programmer and asked to fill out stupid forms/requests whatever I do it. Get paid the same either way if I’m coding or pushing papers thru the system

In all honestly, I feel much more tired and far less productive when I work from the office. If that's what the company want, I don't have a choice just now but I feel, it's not a great decision and still can't figure out why they decide to impose such a rule at all costs.

I blame the slackers in the WFH COVID era. If only HR had even rudimentary performance measurement tools or even if our managers understood our deliverables it might have been different.

Too many people slacked and zoned out and now we all are screwed. One thing… you sure can’t say that they didn’t give us a chance to show what we can do from home. Robin isn’t going to make that mistake again.

The Netflix watcher apparently spoke for tens of thousands of us. So sad.

In office is terrible and I cannot stand it. The constant disruptions is an understatement. Let’s have more meetings that you cannot hear because People don’t shut their mouths

I cannot accomplish in office what I can in the quiet of my home. The constant chatting and interruptions are maddening! Being in office is nothing but a daily social event.

Due to lack of seating we’re told do 3 days in if possible. If not nothing we can about it because we just don’t have enough seats to accommodate the request. They merged buildings into ours and tooks seats to give to them so that’s on them and they did this before covid hit so

240G is jam packed Tues, Wed and Thurs. I know my team adheres to the 3 days and even though they joke about making the 3 days, they do, do it. I have heard talk about going 5 days in '24. Who knows, we're all going to just have to wait and see.

Some people like myself have accommodations for any particular reason, and can wfm that way. So they might not be evading rules.

I strongly second the lack of transparency, especially when you consider how many factors are in play.

It seems the issue is enforced so subjectively. As a manager, I could not care less if my team didn't go into the office because they were in a different state than me anyway. My manager had a different opinion because her boss was at the EC-1 level and was really pushing it. It wasn't until they started publishing reports that I had to start letting people know they are tracking it.

Which managers are looking at that swipe report consistently? How are they factoring in days off, vacation, and holidays? Even if you have so managers that don't want to micromanage the days in, how far up the chain can you go until your individual department or team is flagged? We just don't know.

Lastly, there are lots of people that are "Based at Home". They clearly have a huge advantage over commuters because they can attend more meetings. They can attend those 8 am calls, but if you have a long commute, you have to take a really early train to have a chance of making that. Then in that same day, you could have a 5pm meeting that runs over so you're getting home late. Yep, I can see a lot of friction between telecommuters and in-office workers that have similar jobs or work closely with each other.

I try not to overthink it and just think to myself they want to get people to leave without paying severance or in this case, "sub pay"

I think the lack of transparency, and specifics you mention such as holidays and days off is purposeful, but I’m just assuming for myself at this point that a day off was going to be one of my office days… I’m entitled to two at home each week till. I’m told otherwise. That being said, I am tracking any days off I have, and therefore was not in office 3 days - I don’t trust this company or most of lackey management

While we’re on the topic, what is the deal with sick days, holidays, vacation days? Memorial Day for example, do we still need to come in three that week or can we do two? The lack of transparency is so frustrating.

Heard from somebody pretty high up within the firm that September we will be required in the four days a week and in the new year five. So I don’t think this is an unfounded rumor.

What you do is come into the office briefly one day and let a trusted colleague swipe your badge when they leave and at least 1-2 other days while you work at home. Works great! It’s a little dishonest but just give the church an extra buck.
