How long did that last ? 3 years? Don’t get me wrong, it was a nice building, but 240 Greenwich had plenty of space at the time. What were they thinking? Especially since the Brooklyn employees didn’t go to 240 until after 2019 (?).

It’s not the BNYM museum. It’s the BONY Data center.
I think they set up a BNY Mellon Museum at that location too.
Brooklyn staff DID make it to 240G
We wanted to keep some prominence in downtown Manhattan since we were giving Jo the most prestigious address in the borough.
Liberty was a consolation prize for Bob Kelly (legacy Mellon, for the record). Kelly wanted to build an elaborate white elephant HQ in NYC, but was repeatedly shot down by the board. Remember all is MySpurce posts from the private jet, as he circumnavigated the globe on his BS business trips?
