drink coffee and eat bon-bons in office all day answering emails,calls,and filling out charts with number....it is much harder to be a team leader for only 2/3 the pay of these guys...one of our astl spent about half a week just hanging up team member appreciation stuff...and dont forget to watch us on the camera,nothing builds sales revenue like surveillance leadership.............

It is what you make of it. I have peers who would sit in the office all day and look at the same report over and over for the sole purpose of regurgitating it to the STL. I have had other peers who tries to outwork every single employee to show how they aren't working hard enough. She also works 60 hours on her own choice and emails in the dead of night. I have had peers who do 3 laps a day to give negative feedback. My personal opinion, it is hard because getting people to believe and listen stinks. I am on here to make sure I do not become the thing people don't respect. I am here to give myself a reality check on the job. Some days are harder than others.
Compared to Team Leader? It’s way easier than being a TL in most respects. You’re responsible for way less. There’s not as much accountability. It su-ks you don’t make your own schedule anymore. You work more hours and way more closing shifts. It can be more pay annually but you are salaried and depending on the store and the STL you might work 60 hours a week. This was common in my region. Five or six years ago with gainsharing and overtime I made more money to be TL.
The ASTL position can be challenging, but it all depends on each individuals strengths and opportunities. At the end of the day, if your intentions are in the right place, it can be very rewarding.
