Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

If a band 2 calls you about RTO is it a warning for formal action?

Had some major issues starting in June and I am not sure if I am in 3 days for the 4 out of 6. Pretty close but not sure I made the cut.

I plan on going in 5 days a week until further notice, but I’m concerned I’ll be flagged during this round of calls and potentially terminated.

What does the call involve and how do you get back on good standing? I would hope they give people a chance to correct the issue.

Also if they wanted to enforce RTO wouldn’t it be better to just clarify everything (policy, consequences, how monitoring take place etc) and have everyone agree to it instead of just compiling gotcha reports in the background and then making calls to people out of the blue?

@2xsh+1nDfFbel - I am.

Leadership at this company is only in it for their own clique-y egos. Completely uninspiring.

Benefits have been chipped away. The ones they brag about apply to so few people. It's become a pay check and nothing more.

Working fewer hours, taking the measly pocket change that is my paycheck and clawing back the overtime and weekends I put in, but stopped caring long ago. They can stuff it.

Sounds like a bunch of disgruntled HR or managers posting scare tactics. Not worried about getting into the office when I’m far more productive working from home just to sit in the stupid open floor plan where I DONT SIT ANYWHERE NEAR PEERS!

I've never met my B2. I look forward to the opportunity.

Until they get rid of those pestilence-breeding Petri dish open floor plans, I ain't goin' in!

I lost 2 family members to Covid. I would like to see the bank push RTO on me. Bring it on I say.

I'm counting my vacation/holiday/sick/personal as an office day if day off lands on one of the days I go in. Entering days off into workday so there is a formal record. I'm not worried about it, ready to defend my position if needed.

I have people who work for me and never came in at all. Those people were called by HR and given a chance to correct their RTO behavior. With that said, I imagine this first round of RTO calls from
Band 2 will also be a time to correct your behavior. Also, I imagine alot of people are on report. It’s summer, plus everyone thought a holiday / vacation did not count as a wfh day. It’s d-mb they don’t.

Interesting the vaccination card was used as an example. I had a coworker who upload a blank piece of paper and nothing was ever said. That let us know they never looked at some of that info.

Also, my hubby is at WF. They have the 3 day requirement, but PTO and holiday counts as a day in the office. If you have at least 4 hrs in workday it counts. And if you haven’t been getting to your average as of mid year your rating will be one level lower than it would have been.

Just to say if you search the boa home work excellence you can find the overview document that specifically says holiday and pto is not considered wfh or an in office day and it is manager discretion. If that’s the case, then managers need to communicate their rule. My manager is flexible do your three days doesn’t care when(schedule). I have a friend that started off with having to pick a schedule and if pto or holiday fell on a wfh day that counted as if you wfh same case for in office if a holiday fell on an in office day it counted as in office. However they were just told last week three days in office no matter if you have a holiday or pto you must be in 3 days regardless of your “wfh schedule” my boss (pretty open) said the rto is being talked about in leadership meetings and that word of a consequence model but details weren’t provided. I do know that executives (3 from bm) have gotten reports for their directs and had conversations there. Word I’ve heard is it started with managers telling managers to get it together and that now individuals will have their reports pulled. Still no word on what the consequences will be. I do know way back when the load your vaccination status was going on that if you missed the deadline the lob executive called you directly but I don’t know anyone who didn’t do it after being called but I imagine this will be the same as whatever that consequence model was. Call from executive first. Idk hard to punish people if there isn’t a written outline

Nobody knows what’s going on. We were told come in T,W and Th and wfh M and F. Does t matter if a holiday or sick. That’s silly to make up one of those sick or holidays. It’s not any different than when we were fully coming into the office 5 days a week. People get sick or take days off and there are holidays. Sounds ridiculous to have to make that time up to come into the office.
Sounds like someone is making up rules as they go so more people will leave.
This is really getting silly.

Yeah they really need to be the requirements in writing and then be consistent when it comes to enforcing them. The fact neither has happened, as of yet, makes the whole thing pretty questionable.

Wouldn't be surprised if it ends up as a class action lawsuit if they ever terminate a high number of people for this.

I was told call from B2 is your warning. HR handles directly thereafter. Also they don't care if you were on vacation, sick or holiday on your RTO day. It's 3x WFH or 4x WFH per week depending on LOB. For instance the July 4th holiday was considered one of your WFH days if you are 3x in per week.
