Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Tired of correcting other people's mistakes

I really loved my job and that's why I'm still here, but I'm getting tired of correcting other people's mistakes all the time just because BNY Mellon no longer prioritizes hiring really quality people who know how to do their jobs.

Does the quality matter to them at all when hiring new people here?

Highly paid new hires coming in with with no knowledge and talent has been happening for the last 30 years. If you’ve been here 20 years then rest assured that you’ve displaced many far, far better workers at a lower lower cost.

Why not conduct a job search? No manager displaces “experienced professionals” who are effective workers. Research to find a job that you love. Work is intrinsic to the soul.

That is it.
Highly paid new hires with no knowledge and to make up for these hires bnym fires experienced professionals who stuck by them during covid and acted like adults. Now of course we are in school and need to be tracked

@3fjf, ok, but they have to leave their slaves at home.

Well what would you expect when we hire employees to achieve woke D.E.I. Equity rather than hiring based upon merit?

@2zfy

We definitely need more H1B workers. They’re engaged and motivated, do great work and don’t slack. Their cultural work ethic is so positive and different than the current American recruits.that expect it all on day one.

When I left a few years ago the Bank’s workforce was quite d-mbed down. I shudder to think of how bad it must be now.

Let’s face it. Pretty much all of the good people have left. If you’re good then you ought to consider leaving.

One of the biggest fears I had in my career was never being able to find a better company because of being at BNYM for 11 years. Well last November I got out and it feels great having a more prestigious bank on my resume.

@1jta is right. Those with talent and who do their job well are rewarded with more work rather than raises or promotions. These people have no trouble finding jobs elsewhere that are often higher-paying.

Very few BNYM workers can ever find employment at another bank. Those with skills and a mind leave very quickly.

Same here. And on top of it we have to hold other teams hands and tell them how to do their jobs as well. It beyond ridiculous at this point

I am noticing this more and more. “You are human, you have a pulse- welcome to BNYM!!”
