Too many naive new employees seem desperate to impress and are willing to do whatever it takes to achieve that. I've seen some take on three times more work than is required of them. I wish they knew from the start that it's all for nothing. They're just making their futures here sealed to always being expected to do more with less. And to be stuck where they are, because no manager wants to lose an employee they can milk like that.

Posts like this just sound so bitter and childish. Worry about yourself and let those new employees take the path they want to take.
