Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Is there an actual policy on work from home written somewhere?

Just curious about this. I know it’s different across divisions and lines of business etc, but is there a formal policy somewhere and what happens if you exceed the days?

If you have a real medical issue, then they have to accommodate you, so don't let them tell you they're doing a big favor.

There is no enterprise "work from home" policy. Only an annual Medical Accommodation.

Short answer: Schmooze the h=ll out of your direct manager (or even better, their manager).

Longer (and more correct) answer:
Brian has made it abundantly clear in town halls and press interviews that BofA is a "work at office" company.

Try searching for "medical accommodation" on Flagscape or call the HR helpline (800-566-6044 in the U.S.) to begin the Medical Accommodation Process. (they will want to talk to you first. They will press to find holes in your argument., but if you can push through, they should provide a form that you can have a physician or therapist complete and sign. It is good for one year. You will need to repeat the entire process each year. They will badger you to dissuade you but i have a colleague who just renewed (bona fide physical disability condition), and it was even a pain for him.

LOB heads were given a wee bit of discretion (such as 3/2 or 4/1 days in office, depending on the business and roles). These were sent by email within each line of business. (over a year ago, so I no loner have copy for our LOB in my outlook, but maybe a colleague kept a copy for yours...?)

If not, your HR partner should be able to send you a copy of the email that was sent to your group. But when asking, don't call it "work from home" -- that does not exist as a policy. Either ask for information about the Medical Accommodation Process or a copy of the the email that outlined the "office attendance requirements" for your group.

Just tell them there has been some confusion and you're hearing different versions, so would like to have a copy to help keep it straight... or something like that.
