Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Title and grade level changes

I read about title changes effective in July. Does anyone know how long you have to been in your current position to move up to next level. My last grade/title change came after 3 years. They said it wasn’t performance based but I was due for title change

Corporate titles align with job grade. You reaching VP level is dependent on what grade you are promoted to.

Is the process to become a vice president different from normal promotions? My manager said I’m being put forward for it but it seemed like it wasn’t guaranteed.

You're eligible for a promotion after being in your role for one year. Of course, that doesn't mean you're entitled to it, just eligible.
