Aditya likes Agile. He is easily impressed by words of the moment without truly understanding them. Wonder if he is still treating females as inferior.

In Retirement Group it was implemented with no real product owners for most teams and it’s still that way today. The reality is we have added lots of process and headcount to manage process but the same small group of people are just asked to help them more and more while keeping the place functioning and getting development done.

The difficulty with Agile is if it isn’t orchestrated correctly with the proper knowledge and guidance, it can be disastrous. The key to Agile success is implementing it correctly. I have witnessed tremendous improvement in delivery when there is commitment to transform to agility. The frustration and failure comes when you don’t have the proper resources and leadership support.

ITIL rebranded. Ever wonder why we stopped using the term PM?? Because PMs come with a lot of certs after their name, PMP, 6 Sigma, etc... thus you pay more for initials after a name.

Agile is just another bottle of snake oil sold to gullible Corporate losers who constantly chase the latest cool fad.

It's just another fad that will pass like six sigma, BPM, Lean, etc.

Agile reduced collaboration between apps. Projects realize they needed another system to do work way too late and/or implement a totally stupid approach. There are things to like about agile but not the way BAC implemented it.

In practice - agile is a myth. It is used to report on employee’s time and it gives work to many people who can not do technology if their life depends on it. It mainly works for small projects - if isolated system. It also works by chance - when hard core techies get together and live and breathe coding. All and all - fake it and deliver less than ever. Much talks about nothing.

Very tired of it. Too much pageantry , lacks substance. Management blindly fell for it at the expense of rank and file who need to uplift Agile as if it is another project.

Agile is a fraud. Isn't it amazing how it has been in IT culture for over a decade and yet everyone needs coaching like it's the first time it's been seen? Agile might be good for a brand new product, but a massively regulated entity like BAC, it doesn't make sense

There's nothing agile about it.

Buzzwords seem to lose their meaning when the c suite uses them.
