Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

UPS Driver

So go brown, and you could make on average $170k a year. If only BAC workers had a union, we get "graced" with 2% a year if you crush it

Piece of sh-t bank

You better have a really good friend or close relative to get you in the UPS club or else don't bother.

I see the value some unions have contributed in the past but not a union around today that I would consider joining.

I've seen what they’ve done at some local companies in my area. Vote to raise existing members salaries but agree to put a cap on future employees to make it happen. Donate your member dues to politicians who either want to offshore American jobs and industry or import immigrants to depress American wages with cheap labor.

Not against the idea but no one can honestly act like the unions today are anywhere near their former glory or worth pursuing.

You mofos complaining about UPS pay for their employees need to shut up. The BOA employees here on this site complain about the RTO and want to work from their cozy home and bulshlit all day ,need to shut the he-l up. You wouldn't last a day on a UPS truck. You mofos can barely roll out of bed and work from home.

Bro

You wanna go be a UPS driver? Go do it.

I am going to not be a UPS driver, thanks. 170 isn't the salary, it's the temperature in the back of that truck. They deserve every dollar they get.

UPS drivers can make in the low 100k range delivering, more if you have a CDL and can drive a large truck. That 170k figure is counting the cost of all the benefits (health insurance, PTO, retirement, employer side of payroll taxes). It's not easy work, people yelling about going into the office for 8 hours 3 days a week aren't going to survive the 12-hour days in an non-air conditioned truck.

How labor talks dampened UPS business

In the U.S., UPS saw a nearly 10% decrease in average daily package volume as customers transferred their business to FedEx, the U.S. Postal Service and other regional carriers as they prepared for what would have been the largest single employer strike in U.S. history, had the Teamsters walked off the job.

Direct from an article in USA Today. If you are PRO union, read that first line.

A 10% decrease in average daily package volume as customers transferred their business to FedEx... What do you think would happen if BAC had to take a 10% profit loss? I anticipate I will soon read replies that elude to BAC can sustain a 10% loss. Maybe this one: All the managers can take a 10% loss.

Reality check: If you bring in a union you, the common employee will suffer. One other item. Has anyone equated your title to what could be considered a "management"? I'm pretty sure if you have AVP, VP, SVP, etc has a title, you are "management". Guess who is restricted from joining a union... managers.

Take some time to read the National Labor Relations Act of 1935. Learn about who is non-exempt vs exempt and why. If you think "processes" hinder you now, see what happens when you can't follow or engage in a process because you are union and have a contract.

No Thank you. Unions are a scam su-king money out of your paycheck to fund the DNC. Hard pass.

Completely untrue....misleading news stories. The $170,000 isn't per year, it's over a 5 year period. My son is a UPS driver and only earns about $22-23/hr....NO a/c in their trucks in 115 degrees!
