Feels a little weird calling out sick for
just a cold with cough and runny nose but don't feel that it is fair to everybody else going in to the office to spread germs in an open seating arrangement. Even pre-covid before the 3 day requirement, worked from home for the full week when sick and would only call out if I didn't feel good enough to function (bad headache/ high fever, etc). Typically only used one sick day a year but have the feeling I'll be using most of my sick time this winter season to avoid getting put on the "list". From my understanding of the way the system works as long as you have sick time in your bucket, they can't hold it against you for using it.
What are your thoughts on this topic? Was I shorting myself all along not taking advantage of sick time benefit?
