Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Prepare for ADA lawsuit

Hearing that Robin is on a mission to force all employees, even those with an a medical accommodation, back into the office.

This is driven by the Oriskany employees all being moved to fully remote. This messed up his percentage of employees that can be ‘based at home’.

This was a line even Jolene knew not to cross with her legal background.

So for those with a medical accommodation for remote work, print and screenshot everything! This is the lawsuit opportunity we’ve been waiting on. The point of no return where Robin goes too far. Save your original medical accommodation approval and past performance reviews.

Children. Your jobs are not simply to stare at screens with headsets and type. You also need to meet and get to know your coworkers and your entire team. Somewhere along the line this has been missed.

Go back 5 days and stop crying. If you can't make it, find a new job

From the NY department of labor which is more stringent than federal law.
https://dol.ny.gov/access-individuals-disabilities
Reasonable accommodations do not alter or lower the standards of the job but are expected to reduce or eliminate the limitations that an individual with a disability may have performing the job.

Not to mention that trying to supervise or work with someone remotely is often a "significant difficulty".

Suggesting that 100s of excellent CNY employees be laid off so that ur lazy du** a** stays pretending to be working from home with a fake doc note is absurd! Get a life, and I hope that you receive the November treatment that you are wishing for others!

I need a reasonable accomodation to watch my favorite movies. Rocky 1 to 8 is on this week on HBO, my plan is to connect into the office, turn on my automated key presser, then binge watch.

@1gjg, what do you mean "the other way around"? And it's not just undo hardship that is the litmus test. Reasonable accommodations are not supposed to alter or lower the standards of the job. Working in a remote, isolated environment certainly alters most jobs.

Wonder if we all said we're 2 spirit lqbtqia+ and afraid of being discriminated against if we return to office. Probably let everyone work remotely full time. They bow down to that cult.

CNY is bracing for the worst. Pray from your heart for Syracuse and Oriskany employees

@1uhj+1oTEVyHy - let me take a moment to educate you. Oriskany isn’t the only building they closed due to staffing size clown. Others were closed a few months ago too and guess what? Those employees weren’t let go. They all work from home too. Plus , they need Oriskany to tell people like you how to do your job still . So bring November on

With the Syracuse and now Oriskany buildings being closed down he can easily fix this issue by laying off most of the Oriskany staff . Buckle your seat belts for the November layoff!!!!!

@1ane

You're not in a position to say what is a reasonable accommodation. "Reasonable" means the accommodation won't cause the company undue hardship, not the other way around. It also doesn't mean the company can redefine "reasonable" just because the CEO wants to.

Back in Scharf's (short-lived) days, he tried to force everyone back in the office and quickly backtracked when the legal ramifications hit the fan. It will be the same for RV. These people are all the same (and never learn).

Ok, bootlicker. Just say you love RV and RTO 5 days a week and move on. @1ane

Working from home all the time is not a reasonable accommodation for most positions.
And having a note from your doctor is does NOT mean you can't be axed. Just like being out on maternity leave or disability doesn't mean you can't be axed.
And it's Jolen, not Jolene.

Ok we tried working at home for NY Summer Daze. We tried working at home during Canadian Wild Fire Daze 10,000 miles away on the other side of the U.A. And now we’re WFH for ADAze?

I want to work in NYC.

Huh? Did the closure of CNY take the CEO by surprise?
