If we get laid off, do we get paid for unused vacation?

it depends on if you actually accrued it yet. We’re able to use what we expect to be allotted in advance of accruing it. However, purchased vacation is different since it’s coming out of your check each time

Yes. State law mandates payout for earned vacation time that is unused.

State and Country specific, but in most places you need to have accrued it.

Unused days are paid, but vacation days carried over from one year to the next are not.

Only if it’s accrued. If you used more than you accrued you have to pay it back.

Yes. Your manager will confirm to HR what you have in MyTime.

Paid out vacation days are taxed at high percentage. I saw it from my layoff paystub.

Depends on your state. Look up the rules on the labor portion of your states website.

A company can choose to pay out all PTO upon a layoff but many default to what's mandated by law.
