Reassignment

Has anyone been a subject of reassessment recently? The manager tells you your position is eliminated and you can apply for a lesser job, a lower band as the only option.
According to WSJ it’s a trick/strategy to make you quit or pay you less without a RIF.

A chosen one who will always survive is Aditya. A walking ER case.

Top performers get reassigned as well. Nepotism/Favoritism is real & they will sacrifice anyone to save their own circle.

if you formed a collective bargaining unit, you could actually have power to control this behavior.

No, not 10 years ago. When departments start getting collapsed they move people that perform into other permanent roles so they aren’t laid off. It’s nice they find a home for you with the promise of “we are working to get you back” but still su-ks not having a say in your career path. NO ONE is safe regardless of tenure or performance

I pray every day to be reassigned or offered a package. I hate it so much and I’m looking every day for something else.

I have seen it happen to Coworkers but a package was option #2. Dont see a package option coming again soon.

Yep. There's been lots of movement. No rhyme or reason. Read email from ML that stated if you do not apply for other roles you will definitely be moved far from home. Reeks of hazing.

I have not seen this happen for individual contributors at this company

One of the biggest mistakes most of us make is not holding management accountable.
Report every policy violation, every time
Call HR every single time
The less $$ they save cutting at the top the less they need to cut at the bottom.

it's only the chosen ones who will survive here.. others no matter how hard they work will never be acknowledged or rewarded.

Yup - I was a top performer that got “reassigned” with no say at all effective the very next day

They have done this to so many roles so far to get them to quit or they severance them after 60 days

They are making cuts but trying to keep it out of the news, it’s pathetic

Or they tell you don't perform well in your current role relative to your peers (aka PIP)
