Has anyone gone through the medical accommodations process recently? Specifically for a mental health disorder (legitimate so please be nice) ? How was the process and what should I expect? I was approved last year but not sure if anything changed. Could they deny me if they approved for the same reason before?

@gsne+1q2LNfSD Is the manager decision a new part of the process? I was told I didn’t have to tell my manager the specifics. Also that HR wouldn’t tell them the specifics either.
Yes - your manager decides first along with HR, if no luck then it goes to an attorney to decide.
At the manger /. HR step you will be asked if you’d like to talk to them. I said yes. I explained I’d had this problem since is was 15 (I’m near retirement age), and it was well documented. I said I’d called a few times at work. I was approved.
@7fhu+1q2LNfSD - Holy cr-p! 100% TRUE Story?
I had a medical exemption (physical) for 1 year and was an easy process. Then when it came time to request a 6 month extension while I finished physical therapy...a whole different story! The gal working my 'case' was nasty, rude, condescending and did everything she could to delay the request and to completely deny it. I was unaware of what she was doing behind the scenes until my Doctor's office called me and told me what was going on. I was told there was nothing they could provide to her that would appease her because, in HER words, "I don't care, we just need everyone back in the office". A well written email to her with her manager cc:d, I got an immediate approval. Good luck!
Yep. Get yourself a good shrink and they can write you out. I did it last year after a mental breakdown (caused by work stress). Best of luck.
