I have heard a rumor that offices will soon be installing machines where you will need to swipe out with your badge to be able to leave the office. Supposedly, this is to track who is leaving early as they continue to crack down on who is/isn’t in the office for the 3 full days a week. Has anyone heard anything about this?

They should also be pulling the cameras to see how many of the windows 🪟 and private office folks actually interact with their direct reports
Kinda pointless to be in office if botox barbie is in her office all day
Yesterday I went in and I swiped my badge. I went into a “wellness” booth and took a two hour nap. Then I went home.
@hmd+1q2R6vbF - new machines at OBP are actually ones that were delayed pre-Covid. The current ones are nearly 10 years old and out of warranty for repairs.
If they really wanted to report, they already have the data based on tracking all our activity on the in-office servers. (the companion report to the VPN Usage report, which is actually pretty easy to circumvent, if you can do a lot of your work offline.)
Have heard they aren't quite prepared to report the "butt-in-seat-logged-in-onsite-to-bank-server". Seems that is too evil even for the Draconian Dinosaur Regime.
@xbz+1q2R6vbF - I am a so-called "favorite" having worked from home for the past 12+ years, and got swept in with the infamous Nov 28 form.
My B1 manager went to bat for me with HR exec -- as I do not even work with anyone here. (My nearest colleague is two global time zones away.)
Was told "no exceptions".
So I'll play along for one more year until I retire.
They are losing 2-3 hours of actual production off me each of those 3 days. I don't think they are considering the cost of dead time, nevermind the hypocrisy of their Climate Change agenda.
Potentially locking people in? Hello OSHA.
This didn’t go over well when they tried having folks swipe out.. imagine there’s an active sho-ter and you don’t have your badge to get out.
I would panic just being in the building knowing we’re stuck if systems fail or my badge could drop if I’m in a panic. Sorry- many with anxieties and PTSD won’t handle that well.
This is the reason BofA is so terrible when it comes to innovation because they seem to spend time on such frivolous things. No offense, but a majority of the band 3 folks have nothing to do, no innovative ideas to offer. They are only busy bootlicking and getting their paychecks. What an atrocious situation?
What’s ridiculous about this whole situation is how much time and money they are wasting playing babysitter without looking at common sense: what is the productivity of their workers? If a workers productivity drops then call them out individually. Otherwise what in the world are these id--ts doing? Only thing I can think of is you have a group of people who have nothing to do and need this stuff to justify their employment at the bank. Don’t police cr-p. Just say what you said with three days in and only question if workers work is faltering or they are missing some important cr-p in office too much. Bank knows how to waste time and money. Bank doesn’t know how to manage common sense. Any shareholders reading this?
It is already in practice at several office buildings. To be honest one should be afraid of these little things. How can you work if you are thinking all the time about how to leave the office.
Well that will not work. Many offices have restrooms outside of the office doors shared with other businesses on the same floor. So anytime someone goes to the restroom, they have to swipe back into the office. They have time tracking now with watching devices, I find this hard to believe.
Wouldn't surprise me, one of our competitors requires 6 hours physically in the office to count as a day. They measure by looking at the amount of time between the first and last swipe each day. They also count paid time off and holidays entered in the timekeeping system as an office day. If you took a vacation day on a Monday, you would only need to report to the office 2 days that week.
and the favorites still don't have to come 3d/w or they have been converted to my work.
Rules should be same for all!
Not allowing exit without swiping a badge is a fire hazard.
Banking sector needs to Unionize. It’s about time .
They are installing new machines at One Bryant Park as I type this. Not sure if it's the kind you referenced but it makes sense. They just love treating us like children..what a company.
