GTS Title Promotions

Anyone have any idea when non MD title promotion will be announced? Feeling like I’ve been having this title promotion talk with my manager year or year and some excuse is made.

Managers already know…. Associates who got titles should find out between now and Jan. Goes into effect February. Changes within the past 2-3 years it’s been standardized. To go from avp to vp, have to have 2 years consecutive E and band be a band 5

Don't worry about it. It's free to give out the titles.

Pay increase is a completely different matter, and they are NOT related.

As a manager, HR advised me to "never shoot your wad in one go" (yup, those were the actuall words). "You want to space out the title at least two years from any pay increase.)

If you are content with your pay and general situation, then don't chase the title. It will only result in more work, more demand, more hours and more pressure.

If you want more pay, then get 1-2 competing offers. Takes some effort, but works like a charm. (and if it doesn't, that would be good to know, too, right?)

Title changes can have an impact on income if it’s a functional role change. It directly impacts your band and the range of your pay. People saying it doesn’t matter. It does.

It is already announced. Seniors do not work that hard like you, so you will never get title promotion.

I have been working here over twenty years, and I have no idea how to move to a VP title. I'm fine with my salary, I rarely take vacation time, and I work regardless of my health problems. I'm normally the first to volunteer if a coworker needs coverage, I fill in for my manager when needed, and I work most of the holidays. A few years ago I averaged 13 to 14 hours a day. The average was based on my total hours for the year divided by 365. Titles really don't matter but it would be nice for someone to recognize what I do.

I have seen coworkers leave as a AVP, only to return to a similar job and somehow they become a few months later as an SVP. What happened to the standard work your way into better positions based on your work experience and ethics.

Yet again I'm expecting to much.

Title upgrade doesn't mean more pay, it's just corporate speak.

MD promotions announced today. This year only a handful of people promoted and some of those people are mediocre performers. WTF!!
