@5fby and @5nfa, you think all of us just stumbled across site? It just goes to show that LOTS of people are being cut in the US and replaced by offshore workers. Just like after 9/11 when they cut in NYC so they could hire in more remote areas to minimize risk.

Why do layoff fears increase even as they become increasingly rare?
If this site wasn’t called “The Layoff”, but something like “Glassdoor”, I bet that the conversations would be far more targeted to our real problem… the constant cuts in any and all benefits and the constant war against an honest 401K match.
Sorry, but the point is that you are working in an extremely low layoff environment. Knowing the context of historical layoffs, particularly the 2000 to 2008 10% layoff per year, every year, no exceptions, should give you perspective on how low the layoffs are now.
This is the lowest layoff era ever seen in the Bank. Stop needlessly worrying and sleep well.
Layoffs? Are you kidding me? layoffs?! I just hope we can win a game …
No one cares about layoffs between 2000 and 2008. No one. Whatever you think your message is in posting that endlessly is pointless, unhelpful and makes you sound like a pompous a$s to be immediately ignored. Just stop already.
No, they’re aren’t layoffs every day. There are plenty of reasons to trash the Bank but there has never been daily layoffs in recent times.
Your fragility would have destroyed you had you worked here in 2000 to 2008, the era of 10% displacements per year, every year, no exception.
That was blood in the streets…
To the reply above, no need to be rude. Clearly you are a miserable being.
@1pco+1qBhSgIl, Any layoffs in NYC today?
There are layoffs everyday of the month, so stop asking.
are layoffs part of "comp" talks this year?
Yes
