Is it a 1:1 or something else?

A stupid “one-on-one” as soon as you sign on.
My boss called my cell. I was in the office 3 hours into the day when he told me my position was eliminated. Cared more about my personal email address than anything else. No thank you, good bye or good luck.
Happened on 12-8 for me was told hr would be in contact and they never contacted me I had to reach out multiple times and when I was able to speak with anyone they were of little use. Was very surprised how little care or organization was used in the process.
"I knew once our office closed and the entire building went remote it was just a matter of time."
What is your office location?
Informed being let go by direct manager at 8:00am
Told HR rep would contact via personal email with info and forms to sign.
As of 2:30 posting, nothing as of yet.
What a sh-t 💩 show !! Glad was let go and not left holding the bag.
Cellphone calls now? Not even a teams meeting invite?
My day was today, myself and my “manager” called my cell phone. I knew once our office closed and the entire building went remote it was just a matter of time. Blessing in disguise - now left with a couple people who don’t know the job. Not my issue that clients themselves will suffer.
It's always the employee and their director. The manager is only involved if that manager is at the director level. And it always starts with a meeting invite for a "check in" conversation.
What severance package did everyone get?
@auj, I know several who were notified by people other than their manager. Sometimes it was the manager above them and sometimes a manager of a related group. And I've watched the regional HR guy walk several people out but that was pre-covid. We used to joke about the grim reaper being in the building whenever he visited our site.
Is anyone not receiving the full sub pay, 2 weeks per year worked ?
Only your manager, and often remotely. There hasn’t been an HR rep physically in a BNYM facility in over three years. It’s permanent work from home for HR because HR makes the rules and they’re special..
Your manager or a surrogate will read you a statement from HR. They'll likely schedule a catch up meeting a few days before but sometimes a local HR person will just tap you on the shoulder like the grim reaper.
It was 1:1, manager only. No HR participation.
Not true. It’s a one on one with your manager or maybe their manager. HR used to sit in but rarely does anymore.
And here I was thinking I was safe because my manager is out of office!
Its always HR:Employee, managers are cowards to inform
