Drunk on Power !

Joined as a manager and rose through the ranks of a Director. What could be his secret of success ? I had one of the worst Skip level meetings with this Guy. He was behaving as if he is drunk on Power. Don't see him as a role model or a positive Influencer, just walked out of the meeting room very angry for wasting my time. They know how to play with your energy, almost drained my energy that there was no motivation left throughout the day. The day this Guy joined till today almost 6 senior directors whom this guy used to report to have left their jobs and 1 passed away due to an early death. Thanks to bony for creating such leaders making great contributions to the society.

BNY Mellon has a huge problem with their managers/directors being able to manage up and not down. There is a learning curve to managing and there is trial and error, but they really do not train their managers/directors correctly. Then they allow them to succeed by only managing up to someone else who is likely only managing up. This is a large driver of the terrible culture BNY Mellon is known for.

One word sums it all up - INCOMPETENCE! Management reeks of this!

This could be any number of awful directors and senior directors at this place. I assume you’re in technology?

I saw the worst managing director at bny. Terrible person, terrible leader, only knows how to manage up. Biased, not willing to adopt new technologies, I can just go on.
