Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Proxy limitations - Admins

I’m at the end of my rope. I’m incredibly resourceful, but Faced with unreasonable demands that don’t have a solution. I’m an administrative assistant who supports an executive (and his team) who expect me to handle approvals and all sorts of tasks that I don’t even have access to. And not everything is set up with proxy options (and the platforms that are.. well, those practically take an act of Congress to get him to first find time, then figure out how to actually assign the proxy access.. then we wait a week for approvals). It’s just an insane process that is so unproductive and frustrating. I came over a year ago from another company and they gave admin assistants access (or the passwords) to complete a task/approval/review.

Why does Bank of America make everything so complicated and impossible?!

And don’t even get me started on the LOB with an entire team dedicated to entering access request on behalf of everyone (same requests that anybody else in the company can just request their own access needs)... followed by 15 approval emails. So we have to fill out an online form with all sorts of stupid information and they turn around and use that same information to submit an official access request. This is the d-mbest process!

Did you compare an assistant to a janitor? Clearly, you’re not a leader or anyone in a position that requires much education. Janitors have an important role at the company; however, any respected leader would tell you that Corporate Admins handle high-level tasks, require specialized skills and education/experience, and get paid very, very well… don’t get Admins confused with your grandfathers secretary. Sorry you’re not in a role that would support the need for Administrative support - there’s a good chance the admin you look down on lives in a gated community.

you are an assitant, dont get confused abt providing support vs ownership. You will be vetted like any other janitor and granted access!

This company is known for over complicating things. They make everything more than what it is.
We have weak leaders that are not resourceful and don't know how to get things done through others efficiently.
