Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Instead of laying us ops off

Instead of keeping to layoff people in ops, can I make a suggestion. Invest in tech and layoff the people responsible for accounting technology -who helped contribute to last months investone accounting platform outage/production issues

@3mqp, fire the person who chose the vendor and whoever drew up the contract if we aren't reimbursed.

What would you have them do if it's a vendor's fault?

The leadership in the accounting business is the real weakness. They overreact one crisis after another and never stop to look at the root cause of issues.

Ops unfortunately won’t be there in a year or so. The jobs which are saved are for the favorites. My department won’t be come August or September, we are training our replacements as we speak. Let’s just say if you aren’t in Poland, India or florida you won’t have a job soon.
