Pretty sure you mean Teams.

Our group was told last week, camera on in Teams meetings. Remember when in March 2020 we were told to limit going on camera, due to bandwidth? Guess BNY fixed it, being so adept at technology and quick implementation of it. 4 years is about right.

Good. If they get me upset, they'll be able to see me flash my middle finger!

@7whl we all know the bank offers an excellent compensation package. Surely you can buy a new pair of sweats.

No one would want to see my ugly face. Or even be allowed.

@1kgc+1rOFJifE - funny thing is that in my case with low self esteem about my career, even when the laptop is open and the camera on, even then people see a blank screen

Monitoring employees’ behaviors, ongoing layoffs, additional unpaid work assignments, d-mb#*% supervisors, low pay in asset servicing and dealing with people from India. If these attributes appeal to you then you deserve to work at BNYM Oriskany.

Good luck with that. Most people have their laptops closed while using the docking station and dual monitors.....turn the camera on you'll just get a black screen.

It’s d-mb & unnecessary just like 3 days in office.
I don’t care to see people I’m meeting with across the globe chomping on their hoagie or drinking their coffee.

It’s the least one can do. I don’t understand why people think no camera in meetings is acceptable.

No way. The network wouldn’t have capacity to handle this

Agreed that all hybrid employees must have cameras on when they’re WFH because two of my coworkers in Lake Mary seem away all the time on those two WFH days and rarely reply to messages. Better yet, let’s have full time 5 days RTO

This isnt true at all. First, the OP clearly doesnt work at bny as we use teams, not Zoom. Zoom is allowed now for 3rd party meetings however. Second, there is no such policy for teams calls. It wouldnt be a bad policy however.

Fake - BNY doesn’t use Zoom anymore because of security risks!

This. It's not a big deal. At least you're not in the office daily.

I don’t see the issue with this unless you are trying to hide something. Just use the blurred background if you have a dirty area or unkept area and put on a polo / dress clothes.
