Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

WARN Notices

I just recently learned about this. You can search your state and the keyword “warn notice” and you will find the department of labor site with a list of companies that have notified them of upcoming layoffs. So far nothing for BofA in the few states that I searched. Anybody else know about this?

No way this cheap azz bank is going to lay people off and pay them for another 60 days.

Also banks get around this by giving the employees a 60 day paid notice period, either working or non working. The day you’re laid off would be day 1 of 60.

Re-deploys in lieu of layoffs happening now

Most large financial services firms file the WARN notice when they give you the 60 day notice. So, it doesn't matter; look for WARN notice AFTER you have been let go.

The Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN) was established by the U.S. Dept of Labor on May 22, 1989 to provide employee protections during reductions in force (RIF).

"A WARN notice is required when a business with 100 or more full-time workers (not counting workers who have less than 6 months on the job and workers who work fewer than 20 hours per week) is laying off at least 50 people at a single site of employment (see glossary and FAQs), or employs 100 or more workers who work at least a combined 4,000 hours per week."

You can learn more at the DOL website.

And yes, I've been watching our state but nothing. BM and his cronies prefer to take tax incentives by mandating RTO. They meet their headcount quota by spreading disease and misery to achieve attrition "organically".

Making the workplace better?

The WARN notice applies to massive layoffs like at least 100+ people being let go, so if it is under 50, the bank is still by the book if choosing to not to report.

Also, I thought they are using techniques like making the work place better, early retirement, RTO, work place excellence and the like to induce attrition.
