Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Trying to get a hold of HR

Trying to get a hold of HR is a nightmare. I just sat on hold for an hour and gave up. I can never get ahold of anyone. Does anyone have an email address that works?
My position was eliminated 3 weeks ago, and I need to be able to get my paystubs and w-2, so I can file my taxes.

HR is useless, even when they do respond. HR staff should be 50% rif'd.

@1hyt - I didn’t answer because there have already been multiple answers to the question, not only in this post but in previous posts as well. Why would I repeat something that can be found here? As for waiting online I would be on hold just like you if I contact the PSC.

Would be nice if the company honored there for 401(k) commitment they promised/stipulated when they hired me as well as working in PIttsburgh was 37.5 hours per week… Not 40

Funny how several HR people have commented here to claim they meet RTO requirements but they haven't helped the OP by providing a way to contact HR. Typical.

To state the obvious, you applied to a job which requires you to come into the office. We happened to have a pandemic in which MOST of us were allowed to work from home.

Suggest that you take the high road and honor your employment agreement or job hunt.

Don’t worry about the sweet deal that HR employees get. HR is special in every Bank for which I’ve worked simply because the make the rules including paying themselves way above equivalent jobs.

The ONLY people that like RTO are Robin (who surely has a driver taking him to work and a company jet and a multi-mil salary) and the exec committee who all get their egos stroked seeing people in the office - their minions making them feel important. Oh and Mr/Ms ‘41 years’ who needs a life and new hobby other than trolling this board seems to like it, too. Beyond that, I don’t know of anyone that does and we’re losing good people because of it. Robin doesn’t care. He wants you to quit - or be fired.

I am HR/People Team and I can tell you I’m in the office 3 days a week and have been for about a year, and was in twice a week ever since that was mandated, even when often I’m one of the few people in the office. So your perception of ALL of the HR/People Team just isn’t accurate. We have also laid off people who were based at home - really good and dedicated people. We have no more exceptions than other departments we support, and we are under the same RTO scrutiny you are, believe me.

@1guu

I know for a fact that there have been no HR Employees whatsoever in the Pittsburgh offices for well over three years now. It’s all WFH for HR.

@oqp+1ryz46F7. Your comment is hysterical! Come see me. I work in HR pittsburgh. Am there 4 days a week. We have also been greatly affected by layoffs as well. They let go almost everyone who was legacy Mellon and people with yrs of experience and knowledge leaving the rest of us to figure it out. Leadership in hr new york office, specifically 1 female, is a joke. Because of her lots of amazing hr talent is gone.

Isn't it in your separation document? It was in mine a few years ago.

HR has been 100% work from home for well over three years now and counting.

All calls are ignored. They hide behind the HR portal.

Worst of all they all make six figures.

Life is so freaking easy in HR.

I am having the same issue. I have followed the "instructions" to call an 800#, but you just get looped in the prompts. I have emailed and called and left messages with an HR rep as well as a person in Payroll and have not gotten a response for 2 months! It is unbelievably unprofessional.
