Does anyone know or have any experience with a MA. A coworker was advised that they cannot guarantee a job or their job and can’t tell if it’s a scare tactic or they will legitimately let them go. Looking for advise as they are currently going through the process with paperwork.

I have a VP coworker WFH fully still from the beginning of Covid. He apparently have a special note from his Doctor stating some sort of medical condition. He moved 2 hours away from the nearest Office and still continue to work remote.
@9cqa+1sL6Y9IW - I know of 2 talented teammates (in different groups) who had similar moves (for family reasons).
Both were told to "work out of the nearest branch" or resign.
WFH was never on the table.
Sad.
Does anyone have any experience with getting wfh due to moving 80 miles away from any hub? Been here 10 years and do the right thing. We are selling home and down sizing significantly. I can’t imagine that commute daily. I was considering staying with a friend 2 nights a week so I would only need to a long commute round trip one time a week.
Once the MA process is started by the employee, managers are asked if there are any issues with employee WFH while the process plays out. My teammate didn’t care it was a drawn out process. They could WFH while being evaluated
If you have a legitimate medical accommodation request, with physician documentation, they would be insane to threaten your job up front. If anything they would attempt to make your life miserable passively aggressive, with metrics and/or performance reviews.
Expect a lot of scrutiny. So many hoops have to be jumped through in order to successfully get a MA. No, there are no guarantees of it as a scare tactic, of getting it, etc. Chances are you, or your friend will get so discouraged because of the long drawn-out process that the towel will be thrown in before any decision has been made. I had someone on my old team that started the process in January, and it is still NOT completed. Everything turned in had to be either resubmitted or they just drag their heels getting any kind of response. Your medical history is all now put out there because they claim they need everything. Expect and plan to have hours of time spent on the phone. Good luck!!
Ok? Very informative thank you.
during the pandemic i went through the process but my job was never threatened. not sure if something has changed since. good luck!
