There are tons of directors who are the lowest level managers. So, decisions are made at a higher level. Reporting managers just do the communication in many cases.

The layoff decision is at the director level. Some directors may get manager input.

The bank doesn't care when they do layoffs. Some of us know we are getting laid off eventually. It is just stressful not knowing when. They are just using us for the time being to train other people. They shouldn't expect much from me here on our. I shut down once I knew I was going to lose my job.
