Rumor of layoffs next week. Managers in loop, can you confirm and provide reasons for layoffs: India outsourcing, RTO office requirement, performance,….?

i don't care what people say, I actually like it here
Does this impact roles in Ireland
Best guess on Oriskany future was by someone with the below ID on this site and on who likely was in a leadership position. He/she last September posted that MW was coming to Oriskany to announce closure (true, it happened) and that 80% of jobs in this location and other smaller locations will be eliminated within 24 months (of course company never said so and won’t). There is no location in Oriskany because it closed last December. Layoffs are gradual to avoid NY WARN and prepare India for job outsourcing, but we all know people who are losing their jobs in CNY and Oriskany, and no more jobs are posted there (no new remote jobs). See below id:
I agree with the statements of Oriskany, why can’t the organization just be honest when and if it’s going to happen. People mentally can not work under these fears. It is causing stress that is not needed, just spill the beans to all and let everybody prepare.
Not in my experience. Both Poland and India locations that took over roles that were in US still have a lot to learn. They don’t have all the experience we had and the current mentally from all these new groups in offshore locations is still a “it’s not my job” mentality. And because of that those of us left in the US are suffering because we have to keep handling what they don’t know with a skeleton crew. It was much better when all these tasks were in the US. Everyone understood the full circle (because most people moved around between all the groups) and understood how every task relates to each other and its implications. Now everything is cutoff from each other or each task. It’s really ridiculous. I have no idea how there aren’t more big errors than there are.
How long does Oriskany have? Heard a lot of different rumors. Some say end of year, and others say it depends who your exec leader, and that anyone not under EP might have a chance to stay on even remote
Is there really any upper management in Oriskany? It seems like a lot of middle management lackeys
How high up decides who gets laid off? This is not related to rto infractions, but layoffs for location closures.
Are all the tech MDs finally being out on the 29??
The cost of the India employees is even cheaper than 15-25%, the folks in Eastern Europe are 30% cheaper than US based workers. Folks in India are closer to 50% cheaper, but you get what you don’t pay for.
@wg
Your comment reads to be nonsensical to me.
Just how did RTO fail and what does that have to do with our growth in India?
@1rjr, it's crazy and cruel that the company does this to their most prized resource. People are afraid of change, but they're more afraid of the unknown. And a company with our resources can easily smooth out any transition in employment strategies. But our company can't even handle management 101 tasks.
Seriously. Every department handles things differently in Oriskany. Maybe people in other offices closing don’t care about layoffs. If they know nothing why keep telling us different things. All we want is a little honesty as we know the writing is on the wall, why be all secretive it is annoying. More people are bent out of shape about RTO and that is annoying.
@rjb, more like 60%. And you'll need 3 of them to do the work of 1 of us.
The RTO nonsense is such a bi--h move by this company. They hire in India because they are cheap. Incompetent as all he-l but cheap. They do nothing but cause the productive people headaches
Im a manager and have not heard this .
@ako+1scrZglM - heres a thought you should get a pen and paper for. Ready? Its because us managers in oriskany dont know anything outside of what we get told. Which might not be anythjng! And fyi to the others mentioning oriskany in every layoff topic, do your research cause this location isnt the only location that closed. Its painful reading the same cr-p from some of you .!
You can hire 3 to 1 in India but then you will still need to hire 2 more in US to actually speak clients
@hty...d-mb is saying something is d-mb w/o offering a counter argument. You're very boring.
veh, sounds to me like he real reason is failed RTO and only replacement option is India. Had RTO not failed no need to hire. Simple to me.

Mr 41…42. That was the D-mbest most uninformed comment I’ve ever seen on this forum.
Upper management in Oriskany keeps changing what they tell us. We can never get a straight answer. It has been really frustrating lately.
The reason for India hires is not failed RTO. It’s $$$. Expense for an employee in India is 15%-25% of the expense of the same employee in the US. We can hire 3 people in India for 1 in the US and still save money.

An Oriskany manager (VP) said Oriskany layoffs every quarter…
I am a manager and will let go of 1 person for not meeting office attendance requirement this year, but the real reason is moving his position to India to save $.
