What in the world is going on in asset servicing? These silos were the stupidest idea and now there’s talk about getting rid of them?

It’s all rearranging the deck chairs on the titanic.
The Alan/Jane solutions team is a joke. No clear owner, rather a committee. The funniest thing is the king of self promotion Ben Slavin is on it. That guy does no real work-outsources everything. Heard he has a contract to gaurantee employment….
I heard RMs will be cut soon.
AS is moving into the platform operating model by end of 2024. It will be broken into three distinct “platforms” but I’m not sure exactly what the split will be.
Imo, the silos/utilites/centers of excellence, whatever you want to call them were always done with one thing in mind, keep costs low. They thought if they made employees one dimensional they would be able to retain them and pay them below market value. Instead employees were still able to leave and client satisfaction suffered. Glad I got out years ago.
what is changing? are they doing away with the segments? I am assuming what they did in APAC ie combine Sales/RMs is what will happen globally. I still don't understand the Jane/Alan announcement and what they are doing
When they keep putting people in charge who don’t actually know the business this is the kind of ridiculousness that you get.
How did some of these managers-who were horrible to begin with-get promoted to positions they are not qualified for? Especially in Asset Servicing
What ki-ls me is the managers of these pods or whatever they’re called. Useless. The RMs so the jobs of the managers.
Follow the money. These changes come from the top. Why? Because it will benefit the top! Sounds like skimming extras off for another merger
Asset Svc will be changing. What can be moved off shore will be.
No idea. It’s a big mess. No one cares about the lack of client support. And definitely no one cares about employee satisfaction
