Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

More blood today in US

Had more displacements today in the building back better economy. People on my team, some of the more knowledgeable and productive were let go because they chose to stay loyal to their company even after the company shut their building down. They stayed loyal and worked through covid when others hung out at home collect pua and made tik toks in their underwear. Heads up workers dont be the band on the Titanic. Start looking

@OP

The so called June layoff was a repeat of the failed Feb 6th layoffs.

I don’t call a half of a percent a layoff. I call it good times.

Good Morning,

My name is Rachel Dalloo and I am a Reporter with Financial Advisor IQ at the Financial Times. I am reaching out to see if there is anyone who was recently laid off from BNY's Pershing and its practice management consulting team, who is willing to speak with me about the layoffs within that division.

I would like to learn more about how many were affected because of the layoffs and if more are expected.

If you are willing to speak with me, I can be reached via email at rdalloo@money-media.com and by cell at 646-392-5066.

Thank You.

It was a pretty light layoff. Both February and June were essentially non events. Good times and job security are back in this modern low layoff environment.

Thank the Boomers for working through the layoff eras so that you enjoy a layoff free era.

People here seem to think that they know how to run the Bank. They don’t. They don’t even understand the basics of a Bank.

Many of the comments here indicate that employees are so disengaged that they think that Robin Vince owns the Bank. We aren’t hiring the brightest.

@1lvz

Totally disagree. Nobody likes laying off but Forced Rankings are the least bad way of rewarding, displacing and paying employees. If there is a fairer and more equitable way to do this we’re all ears.

And yet I notice that the more productive the worker, the happier they are with forced rankings. There are no participation trophies for adults and hard work always pays off.

They are temporary hires of interns which do little to no work over their 2.5 mths while full time knowledgeable employees are let go

@1lvz is whining about new hires!

People on a layoff board complaining about too many hires….

They’re looking for any way to get rid of the employees with 10 years plus years. Why you think they hired over 1k interns? From RTO issues to missing one hour training a week, late classes to forced rankings. Forced rankings is down right disgusting. You HAVE to rank someone below even when you don’t have anyone to rank below. Managers will keep their favorites until the very end because it’s all a favoritism game. Some managers are being asked to relocate to florida, why you think some have visited the florida office recently? If you aren’t in the Pitts or Florida offices you will most likely be losing your job.

Negative media coverage and a legal notice are the only things that can stop the lousy new Heads. This isn’t a loss making businesses and there are ways to cut costs without destroying current platforms and people.
They cudnt stay loyal and could not contribute effectively.. therefore the vengeance and hatred at those that did.

The vomit spewing from members of the EC today was really sad. They’re inarticulate, “uh, uh” and just regurgitating everything from the last meeting.
