US Notice Policy Breach

Has anyone left earlier than the required notice period - VP/SVP 30 days, D/SD 60 days, MD 90 days? What is the consequence of submitting an earlier notice or providing last day of work? As soon as your notice is submitted, policy states you are ineligible for bonus or incentives...what else could they hold back?

I don't give a sh-t about RSUs, I just don't want to be sued for my last bonus.

Also don't care about being rehired, because I am no where near a growth location. There won't be an office to go into anyway.

Depends on the circumstances. My situation was acrimonious and I made it clear I wasn’t going to honor my notice period due to mistreatment.

HR understood didn’t take anything from me.

The reality is that, once a situation turns sour, they don’t want you around just as much as you don’t want to be there.

They can claw back any RSU grants.

The policy doesn’t have much teeth. The only thing you may have to watch is surrendering x amount of pay or paying back an amount. Check Athena for full policy because they vary by level. I left and used my PTO as a way to meet the criteria without actually being there and instead started my new job.

Many employers blacklist you from being rehired in the future.

If you've already submitted your resignation, don't sweat it! When you consider how dysfunctional this place has become, odds are BNY doesn't have much of future anyway. Move on!
