Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Transportation assistance?

Does Bank of America pay for transportation ? Do they reimburse you half or all?
I’ll be taking the train daily and wondering if they pay for transportation at the director
Level?

Director level and you want BAC to assist you w/ transportation costs? Wow!

Options:

  • - BMWs may get great gas mileage, but the maintenance is too high. Sell it for a Prius.
  • - Riding the train? If you get mugged BAC doesn't help you get your money back.
  • - Still need assistance? Step 4 levels down from your Director position, then we'll talk.

Any question that starts with "Does Bank of America pay for...." or "Do they reimburse you...." is an automatic no.

OP needs a finance advisor. At a director level salary you can’t afford a train ticket? You have problems .

Pay a hondo for public transportation in return for a 6-figure salary + full benefits?

While inconvenient, I'd make that trade.

@1bst+1tH30Kk8 - exactly!

Here is the link for anyone who needs it: https://www.bankofamerica.com/information/associates/

Scroll down and across to "Benefits". You will see "Commuter Benefits" on the list in that column.

You can use Commuter Benefit for subway, ferry, bus passes, etc. (Options vary by the transportation available in your geography.)

The company no longer subsidizes (alas, the "free parking space for B3" evaporated the year I was promoted to B3 (can't make this stuff up!) -- BUT the Commuter Benefit does save on your taxes.

YMMV - wishing you luck and thank you for raising the question to help others be aware of this benefit.

Signed.

you get a pre-tax commuter account that you can contribute to up to some IRS determined amount (I think $250ish?) you can use on parking, bus, train, etc. if you are in NYC you can use it for the subway as an OMNY tap pass
